We are one week away from our class parties on October 30th. Here are some things to note!

The parties will begin at 2:50pm. Parties are open to up to 2 adults per family this year, however, only children who attend DRE may attend.
This year we are implementing our Centegix Sign In System. For first-time users, please bring your government-issued ID or you can come into the office prior to the day of the party to get set up with the system. If you have successfully signed into the Centegix system prior to the party, please see Ms. Kaya during your arrival for the party to receive your visitors pass.
Send your treats anytime the week before the party or by 9 am Friday, October 30th. Treats do not have to be individually wrapped but do have to be store bought. They can be sent to school with your child or dropped off in the office.
*** No homemade treats. No nuts.
Halloween Costumes
All Halloween costumes need to be able to be put on over clothes
Do not wear costumes to school- bring costumes for afternoon
No masks or face paint/make-up
No play weapons

Ms. Aubrey and Mr. Brian's pre-k class brought learning to life... literally! Mr. Brian became their coconut tree so they could act out a class favorite, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. The laughter was definitely contagious!

Please turn in trash bag order forms and money on Monday, Sept 28th. Cash or Checks made out to DRE are accepted. Students can drop them off in the front office with Ms. Jamie or Ms. Kaya!
USD 204 Pre-K students visited Delaware Highlands Assisted Living this afternoon to show off their stuffed animals in a Pet Parade for the residents! Delaware Highlands staff even had Dalmation puppy ear headbands for the students to wear, and treats for the students after the parade!
Today was the first day of this year for the Pre-K students to visit, but they will be back several times throughout the year - a wonderful partnership for both the preschool students AND Delaware Highlands Assisted Living residents!

It's time to schedule parent-teacher conferences! Our fall conferences will take place on October 14 and 15, 3:30 - 7:30 PM. You can find all teachers' names across the top of the sign-ups. Simply click on the tab for your child's teacher and choose the best time for you.
We look forward to meeting with all our families over these two evenings. Families are encouraged to bring your DRE student to these conferences.

At the September 8th Board of Education meeting, Hilary Koehn from the Kansas Parents as Teachers Association and Lisa Williams from the Kansas Office of Early Childhood presented Melissa Lewis with the 2026 Parent Educator of the Year award!
Koehn said, "For more than 11 years, Melissa has been the heart of the USD 204 Parents As Teachers program as the Parent Educator. As the sole parent educator serving in this community, she has carried an incredible responsibility with consistency, compassion, and a genuine commitment to families, and it shows!
Over those years, Melissa has touched the lives of hundreds of families building relationships, one home visit at a time, and has helped parents feel confident as their first and most important teacher."
